IAN THORN
Ian Thorn is the Founder of EC&I Systems and is an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer, with a proven track record of leading high-value EC&I projects to Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Pharmaceuticals and Water sector clients with a strong focus on QHSE and delivering projects as per requirements and engineering standards.
Ian engages with EPC Contractors and Operators to present electrical, control and instrumentation solutions for CapEx approval. I am highly experienced leading EC&I engineers in FEED and detailed design phases in compliance with COMAH regulations and industry best practices. Furthermore, I interface with multi-disciplined teams, including process, piping, subsea and safety to ensure functional requirements are fully captured by EC&I design. I also support vendors throughout EC&I package construction to mitigate modifications and delays. I oversee FAT, commissioning, SAT and final handover of EC&I packages to client teams, including the delivery of full documentation in accordance with agreed supplier document requirements listing (SDRL).
During his career, Ian has worked with / for many top-tier organisations, including Sanofi, Chevron, Jacobs, Aquaterra Energy, Anglia Water, British Nuclear Group, Proeon Systems, Amec, Imtech Process, Cameron & Tyco.
